NO on SB3054 (Kayla Hamilton Act)

Tell our Senators to vote NO on SB 3054 (the Kayla Hamilton Act). The US House has already passed this bill. It would severely compromise the health, safety, and well-being of unaccompanied children who come into the care of the Dept of Health and Human Services. This bill would prolong children’s detention, mandate strip searches for children age 12 and older, and put vulnerable children in detention centers without a fair day in court. It would violate the key principles of the bipartisan 2008 Trafficking Victims Protection and Reauthorization Act.
